Xenia Nazarene Church was blessed with a wonderful 100th anniversary celebration!  The reunion dinner was held on Saturday, September 15, in the Xenia Community Center gym with approximately 325 people in attendance.  The evening included delicious food, great music from Steve Adams, Tony Fightmaster, Brannon & Gloria Hancock and Dave Beam--all former worship pastors/leaders.  A choir, comprised of current and past musicians, sang The Church Triumphant.  We heard from former senior pastors Larry Dennis, Dr. Harold Henderson, Mike Dennis, Russ Gumm and current senior pastor Mark Atherton.   Lots of hugs, renewed acquaintances, and new friendships filled the evening.

On Sunday, September 16,  Dr. Brannon & Gloria Hancock, Clay Sell and the worship band led us on a musical trip through the decades singing:

1910s - Wonderful Grace of Jesus

1920s - Great Is Thy Faithfulness

1930s - Victory in Jesus

1940s - Just a Closer Walk with Thee

1950s - How Great Thou Art

1960s - The Blood Will Never Lose Its power

1970s - Because He Lives

1980s - Majesty

1990s - Shout To The Lord

2000s - In Christ Alone

2010s - Open Up The Heavens

What fun!  Pastor Mark followed with a great message on the importance of remembering.  Lots of photos of the celebration weekend are available for viewing on these FB pages:  Xenia Church of the Nazarene and Xenia Nazarene Centennial.  Centennial Homecoming memory books are available from the church office for $5 each while supplies last.
